Krabi is on the Andaman coast, about two hours east of Phuket by car. The province is known for dramatic limestone cliffs, long beaches, and island-hopping to places like Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, and the Hong Islands. Ao Nang is the main tourist town with hotels, restaurants, and longtail boats to Railay Beach, which has some of the best rock climbing in Thailand. Krabi Town itself is quieter and more local, with a riverside night market and access to Tiger Cave Temple. Less developed than Phuket, with a slower pace and lower prices.
