8 Best Family Hotels in Patong Beach 🧸

  • Last updated

Where to Stay in Patong Beach with Kids

Patong Beach is Phuket’s busiest tourist area, known for nightlife, shopping malls, and a long stretch of public beach. At first, it may not seem to be the first place most families think of, but several hotels here have invested heavily in kids’ clubs and family facilities that make Patong work surprisingly well for families. The key is choosing the right property.

Some hotels are directly on Patong Beach at a reasonable distance from the action. Others are tucked away on private beaches nearby or hillsides where you’d never know Bangla Road existed. The range of options means you can have easy access to Patong’s restaurants and shopping while keeping your kids entertained at the resort.

All hotels on this list have supervised kids clubs, though the level of supervision and programming varies significantly between properties.

Keeping the kids happy during your holiday is important!
Oto Kids Play Park is a smart interactive space with slides, climbing walls, trampolines and interactive play zones that kids don't want to leave. Trained nannies supervise while you enjoy shopping or a proper meal, your entry fee works as food credit! Two locations: Central Phuket & Robinson Chalong.

Phuket Marriott Resort Merlin Beach

On The Beach – Quiet Area

This 5-star resort with 410 rooms sits on Merlin Beach, a semi-private stretch of sand several kilometres from central Patong. It’s the most secluded property on this list. You get the benefits of being near Patong without the noise or crowds. The beach is genuinely private with its own snorkel reef.

Bam Bam Club takes children aged 4-12 from 8 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm daily. Kids under 4 can attend with a parent. The club has an underwater theme with a large whale hanging from the ceiling. There’s a soft play area, arts and crafts tables, an outdoor playground with mini cars, and a splash pool with a slide right outside.

What makes this kids’ club different is the educational focus. Staff run guided tours to the on-site Butterfly Sanctuary and Reef Education Centre. Kids can take cooking mini-classes, making pancakes and cookies. No gaming consoles here, which the resort says encourages creativity and making friends.

Three outdoor pools, including a family pool with an interactive water playground featuring slides and spray jets. The splash pad sits next to the kids’ club. Rooms range from standard doubles to family suites. Pool view and ocean view rooms are available with private balconies. Some rooms have direct pool or beach access from terraces. Connecting rooms available.

Direct access to semi-private Merlin Beach, with kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkelling at the private reef. Five restaurants, including beachfront dining.
