Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central is a good value-for-money budget hotel in a strategic location in Patong Beach. This modern hotel is just a hundred meters from the beach, but it is also within walking distance from the heart of Patong and its buzzing nightlife and shopping.
The Hotel
Accommodating the many nationalities visiting Patong on a budget is not a small challenge, as we have witnessed several times. Holiday Inn Express is modern and well-designed, the right choice if you travel to Phuket on a budget and prefer to be close to everything Patong offers. Staff is young, amicable and do their best to be helpful.
The Rooms
Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central is not very big nor fancy, but as you can expect with an international brand, the rooms are very well designed. The layout is functional, with all the features needed by modern travellers.
The bedrooms are well lit, with lots of plugs, a small working table, a balcony and a comfortable bed. It comes with many room amenities: a safe box, slippers, a fridge, and a large TV with plenty of international channels (it’s not often the case with budget hotels). There was no bathtub, unfortunately.
The Facilities
Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central does have many facilities, and once you have seen all the shops and restaurants available all around, it makes sense. There are no fancy spas or restaurants here. Just a pool, a good buffet breakfast, a coffee shop and a fitness room.
If you arrive too early, as check-in is at 3 pm, we had time to enjoy the coffee shop ‘Coffee Club’, which is part of the hotel but an independent franchise serving a wide range of good food, coffees, drinks and cocktails. The beautiful blue pool is not very large and gets busy quickly, so if it looks quiet, enjoy it as soon as possible.
What’s around the Hotel
You can enjoy food, massage shops, and light shopping in the hotel’s direct vicinity. There is also a Family Mart convenience store just next to the hotel so you can store some drinks and snacks at a better price. As you can see on the map below, the beach is just 100 meters away.
Not far on the left, you can enjoy Kudo Beach Club and Surf House Phuket, and then you will reach the famous Bangla Walking Street and the millions of shops and bars that made this iconic street famous.
