Phuket Weather Timelapses
Weather forecasts for Phuket are almost useless. They predict thunderstorms for an entire week, and you end up with scattered afternoon showers and sunny mornings. The opposite happens too. After years of watching travellers stress over weather apps, I started recording daily timelapses from the Phuket 101 live webcam overlooking Patong Beach.
Each video compresses a full day into about one minute. You can see exactly what a typical day looked like: when the clouds arrived, how long the rain lasted, how much sunshine there actually was. Nothing gives you a more honest picture of Phuket weather than watching it happen in real time.
Browse the month you plan to visit and click through the daily timelapses on YouTube. You will quickly see that even during the rainy season, many days are mostly sunny. And even during the high season, the odd grey day can appear. The weather in Phuket is unpredictable, but these recordings show you exactly what that unpredictability looks like day by day.

July has more rain than June, but scroll through the timelapses and you will find plenty of days with long sunny stretches, especially in the mornings.

September is usually the wettest month. These timelapses show it clearly. More grey days, longer rain periods. But even in September, there are bright days mixed in.
Timelapse of each day of October 2025
October is still wet, but you can often see the pattern starting to improve towards the end of the month as the monsoon weakens.
Timelapse of each day of November 2025
November is the transition back to high season. Some days are perfect, others still have rain. These timelapses show exactly why November is a gamble worth taking.
Timelapse of each day of December 2025
December is peak season, and the timelapses show why. Mostly blue skies and sunshine. But watch closely and you will spot the odd rainy day that catches everyone by surprise.
