The hotel, which was long known as Banthai Beach Resort, is across from a beautiful wide beach just 500 metres from Bangla Walking Street, the heart of Patong nightlife.

The Hotel
DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort is a vast hotel with three wings, each built around a large swimming pool. Guests can enjoy two restaurants, two main bars, three swim-up bars, a bakery, and a fitness room. The decor is simple and elegant, with an impressive lobby and well-designed contemporary rooms to match the needs of all modern travellers and at a very affordable rate.
The rooms
All the rooms at DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort come with pool views, but only a few have pool access, so we treated ourselves to a pool-access for a weekend in Patong. Stepping down anytime from your room into the warm water of the immense pool is as good as a holiday.
The pool access room we stayed at was modern and well designed, maybe a little small, but with all the amenities you can expect for an international brand such as Hilton. Remember that pool access rooms don’t come with a desk, so you should book a superior room if you need one.
The bathroom deserves a special mention: the bathroom is bright, very spacious, and features a separate shower and a lovely bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring the nearby islands or even just a day spent on the beach.
Restaurants and Bars
The Port is the main restaurant near the beach, where you will probably enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The venue is bright and very welcoming, surrounded by tall coconut trees. If the weather allows, the roof retracts, adding a unique tropical touch to your breakfast. You feel like you are about to start a fantastic holiday in Thailand. However, guests can enjoy the indoor and air-conditioned room if the temperature outside is too hot. The restaurant team is friendly and always helpful, ensuring your meals go smoothly.
DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort has three swimming pools, each with very inviting swim-up bars!
Blah Blah Bar is an iconic open-air square bar counter bar where guests can enjoy a vast array of drinks at any time of the day. The location is by the street side and is perfect for enjoying a sunset drink or having fun after dinner and watching the world go by.
Facilities
The fitness centre is well-equipped with treadmills, cross-trainers, sports machines and free weights.
The Beach
Just across the street from DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort, the beach is vast and superb, and the sea is clear and blue in high season. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available to rent for a small fee (loungers don’t belong to the hotel), and you can easily buy soft drinks, beers and fresh coconuts from the many small beach bars set along the beach.
If you feel like a little adrenaline rush, you can rent a jet ski or enjoy a short parasailing ride, but remember that accidents are not unheard of.
Patong Nightlife
DoubleTree by Hilton Phuket Banthai Resort is one of the strategic hotels in Patong for those who want to have it all. Not only is the hotel surrounded by shops, clubs and restaurants, but the famous Bangla Walking Street is just 500 metres away.
