The location

Karon Beach in Phuket

Location-wise, the hotel is just a short walk away from Karon Beach, which is known for its white sand, and crystal-clear waters. Just in front of the hotel, visitors can enjoy a range of local restaurants, shops and bars. Avista Karon occupies a very strategic location because guests can enjoy both Kata beach town to the south and Karon town to the right, less than a kilometre away, both offering dining shopping and vibrant nightlife.

The rooms

Avista Grande Phuket Karon features 159 rooms divided into 8 room types, distributed on 5 floors. We stayed in a Deluxe Suite Pool Access with Pool View.

The rooms at the Avista Grande Phuket Karon – MGallery hotel are spacious and well-appointed, with a range of amenities designed to ensure guests’ comfort and convenience. All rooms feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a safe deposit box, an iron table with iron, an espresso coffee machine, a full minibar (which is becoming rare) and a private balcony with views of the large swimming pool.

Our room was a superb pool access room, with a spacious terrace and two large comfortable loungers. The access down to the pool is very comfortable with steps and the water was warm like a dream after a long day in the sun. The room had a large working station on one side and a vast sofa facing it, perfect to work on your laptop or watch TV. We loved the fact that there are many international electrical plugs easy to reach all over the room, and no less than three USB plugs! The large bathroom has of course a rainshower but also a large bathtub with all the amenities you can expect from a 5-star hotel.

Restaurants and Dining

Avista Grande Phuket Karon offers no less than four dining options: Portosino, Tearapy Lounge, The Dim Sun and Lido Pool Bar.

Portosino

Portosino serves excellent Thai and international dishes in a bright and comfortable setting. The tables in the little alcoves overlooking the swimming pool are the most welcoming spots. In the morning, the breakfast buffet offers a vast choice of dishes that will please anyone, the perfect way to start your day before going to the beach, or on a day trip excursion.

The Dim Sun

The Dim Sun is a large rooftop terrace with sunset views over the Andaman Sea, the perfect way to end your happy exploration day with excellent cocktails and a romantic candle dinner! The rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the sea and a poolside bar that serves light snacks and drinks. The food is of high quality, and there are plenty of options to choose from, whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a family-friendly meal.

Tearapy Lounge proposes a high tea made from artisanal northern Thailand harvest, served with scones and pastries from 10 am to 8 pm, but this venue had a private event on that day.

Facilities

Avista Grande Phuket Karon – MGallery offers a range of amenities designed to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. There is a large outdoor swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, a big fitness centre, a spa, and a kids’ club. The hotel also offers a range of services, including concierge services, 24-hour reception, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The swimming pool is vast and bright, with a very attractive pool bar called Lido.

Pearl Spa

Pearl Spa is a must after a long flight or to relax and reward yourself after a year of hard work. The spa has single treatment rooms and a room for couples, but because of its relatively small size, you should plan ahead to make sure you get your treatment, especially on a rainy day, when everyone will have that same idea. One of the unique treatments at Pearl Spa is the pearl massage, created with real pearl powder.

Fitness

The fitness near the pool is well equipped and the floor-to-ceiling windows facing the pool and the large mirrors provide a spacious environment.

Overall, the Avista Grande Phuket Karon – MGallery is an excellent choice for travellers looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Phuket. With its stunning location, spacious rooms, delicious dining options and range of facilities, it’s the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy what Phuket island has to offer.
