An Old-School Noodle Shop at a Busy Intersection
O Tao Si Yaek Jui Tui (โอ้วต้าว สี่แยกจุ๊ยตุ่ย ภูเก็ต) sits right at one of the busiest intersections in Phuket Town, next to the famous Jui Tui Shrine. Finding the place is easy. Stopping to eat there is the tricky part. Traffic flows constantly, and there’s no real parking. Most customers are locals on motorbikes who know exactly what they’re doing.
What Makes This Place Special

The shop looks like someone forgot to close their grocery store and started cooking instead. Shelves filled with snacks, sauces, and household items line the back wall. Red plastic stools sit on checkered tiles. A lady works the wok right at the front, visible from the street. It feels like stepping back 30 years.
What To Order

The restaurant is famous for O Tao, that classic Phuket dish made with batter, small oysters, steamed taro cubes, and egg. It’s fried until slightly crispy, seasoned with white pepper, and topped with crispy pork cracklings and fried shallots. Locals have been eating it here for years.
I went for the Hokkien noodles instead, because they looked so tempting on my neighbours’ plates :D. Thick yellow egg noodles stir-fried with shrimp, pork, Chinese greens, and a soft egg on top. The egg yolk breaks into the noodles when you mix it. That’s the best part. Prices run around 60 to 80 Baht, depending on your choice.

The noodles came out fast. Good smoky flavour from the wok. Not fancy, not trying to be. Just solid Phuket street food the way it’s been made for decades.
Practical Information

Getting a table is straightforward since the place rarely gets crowded with tourists. Most visitors to Phuket Town walk right past without noticing. The location makes it awkward to stop if you’re driving a car. Motorbike or walking works best.
Open during the day, closed in the evening. No English menu when I visited, but the staff will help you order. Point at what others are eating if needed.

If you want to try real local Phuket food without the tourist crowd, this is exactly that kind of place. Nothing polished about it. That’s why it works.
