What to Do and Where to Eat in Kata Beach Kata Beach is one of the most popular beach areas in Phuket, with a compact town that makes it easy to walk between restaurants, shops, and the beach. The main road running parallel to the shore is lined with Thai and international restaurants, massage shops, minimarkets, and small boutiques. Side streets add more options, including local Thai food at lower prices than the beachfront spots. Kata Noi , the smaller bay just south, has a quieter feel with a few resort restaurants overlooking the water.
Kata’s dining scene covers a wide range: seafood restaurants with tables near the sand, Italian and Indian places along the main strip, rooftop bars with bay views, and simple Thai rice-and-curry shops where locals eat. The area between Kata and Karon also has restaurants along the connecting road. For nightlife, Kata is more relaxed than Patong , with low-key bars and live music rather than clubs.

From Phuket Airport , the drive takes about 50 minutes. The Phuket Smart Bus stops in Kata along the west coast route. Parking is available along the beach road and in the side streets off the main strip.
