Pomodoro is an excellent and authentic Italian restaurant in Kata Beach, a great place to come and relax with your friends or your family after a long day on the beach. The restaurant is a vast open terrace by the street, a little away from the busy centre of Kata. A breeze flow through and the atmosphere is easy-going and very enjoyable. Mario and his team are very friendly and happy to assist with the menu, which is quite comprehensive and well-illustrated. Everyone will find something to make them trigger their appetite.
We sat down and enjoyed the moment as we took our time to browse while enjoying a local beer (90 baht) and a glass of house white wine (170 baht). This casual setting is how we imagined an Italian restaurant. Come with friends, have a good time, and discuss every item on the menu until you have your perfect dinner all planned.
In the appetizer section, you’ll find the great classic to start the meal. Parma & Mozzarella (340 baht), Prosciutto & Melone (320 baht), Tagliere Italiano (460 baht) and Pizza Focaccia (140 baht) to go with. We had a classic Caprese as a starter (280 baht)
If you like pasta, you can order from a choice of spaghetti, Linguini, Penne, Fettucine or Tagliolini. From the homemade pasta menu you can try Lasagana Bolognese (360 baht), Ravioli al Pomodoro (300 Baht), Ravioli alla Bolognese (390 haht), Ravioli Sorrento (320 baht), Tortellini Pasticciati (320 baht) and more. We went for a classic Spaghetti Vongole (clams) and Spaghetti Carbonara (260 Baht).
Pomodoro also has a nice list of more than 30 pizzas if you are in the mood starting 190 baht.
Our dinner was superb and relaxing, and there is no doubt that we will go back whenever we feel like an authentic Italian dinner in the Kata Beach area.
As usual, this is not advertising. We came unannounced and paid our bills.
