There are many viewpoints in Phuket where you can see the island from above. Some are easy to reach by car or scooter, while others require a short walk.
Promthep Cape, locally called “Laem Promthep”, seems to be an irresistible spot for a good old sunset photo at the very south of Phuket island, not far from Nai Harn Beach on the way to Rawai Beach.
Update 2025 about the Big Buddha Phuket: You can only approach the site, but you can’t enter the area. You can see the Big Buddha from a vast open area on the side, with limited visibility. The Big Buddha Phuket is a 45-metre-tall marble statue with panoramic views. The official name is actually Phraphutthamingmongkhol-akenagakhiri Buddha, meaning “Happiness on Top of Nagakerd Mountain”.
