A Revered Temple near Chalong
Wat Sil Supharam, also known as Wat Mai Luang Pu Supa, is a revered temple in Phuket, associated with the famous monk Luang Pu Supa. At 115 years old, Luang Pu Supa has lived through five reigns and is widely respected for his spiritual practice and knowledge. Visitors to Phuket are encouraged to visit this temple, which is located just 2 km from the famous Wat Chalong, to seek blessings and good fortune.

Luang Pu Supa is known for his sacred powers and his famous amulet, the Maha Lap Spider, which is believed to bring prosperity, especially to merchants. He also possesses a magical crocodile said to protect against thieves. His teachings and blessings have made him a top monk in Thailand, with disciples across the country and even in Singapore and Malaysia.

Born on September 17, 1895, in Sakon Nakhon Province, Luang Pu Supa was ordained as a novice at the age of nine. He studied under various renowned monks and practised meditation under Phra Ajahn Man Phurithatto. After travelling extensively across Thailand and neighbouring countries, he settled in Phuket, where he built temples and monasteries. His long life and dedication have left a lasting legacy in the Buddhist community.
