Royros is a casual local restaurant on the roadside of Ya Nui Beach, in the very south of Phuket. It sits right across the road from the beach, under the shade of tall trees. If you are spending a day at Ya Nui for swimming, snorkelling or kayaking, Royros is the most convenient place to stop for a meal or a cold drink without having to drive anywhere.

Atmosphere

The restaurant is entirely outdoors, with a large open seating area sheltered by the tree canopy. It feels relaxed and informal, which matches the laid-back vibe of Ya Nui Beach itself. There is no air conditioning, just natural shade and the breeze coming from the bay. You can easily spot the place from the road as you drive down towards Promthep Cape. It is the kind of place where you sit in flip-flops after a morning in the water, order some food, and take your time.

About the Food

The menu is a mix of Thai and Western dishes, along with seafood, fruit shakes and cocktails. Thai classics like pad thai, pad krapow, green curry and som tam are available, and the papaya salad is known to be extra spicy. There are also Western options if you want something different. Portions are decent, and prices are affordable for a beachside spot.

Good to Know

Royros also rents out kayaks, so you can combine lunch with a paddle out towards Koh Man, the small island about 700 metres offshore. The restaurant closes relatively early, so plan to have lunch or a late afternoon meal rather than dinner. Cash is recommended as card payment may not always be available. There is limited parking on the road near the beach, but you can usually find a spot if you arrive before the afternoon rush.

If you are driving down to Promthep Cape for sunset, stopping at Royros for an early meal on the way is a good plan. The Windmill Viewpoint is just up the hill, and Nai Harn Beach is a couple of minutes north.
