Patong’s Hidden Floating Pool Club

Wave Club Phuket is a new entertainment park hidden behind Malin Plaza on the south end of Patong Beach. The complex combines a large pool club with cabanas, a floating restaurant area, a central stage for live music and DJs, kayaks on a man-made canal, and the impressive thatched roof building of Thailand Mountain Phuket restaurant. The whole site is built on the lagoon next to Fisherman’s Harbour Urban Resort, with arched bamboo bridges, water wheels, and longtail boats giving it a floating market look. I visited during the day, which is probably not when the place truly comes alive, but even in daylight, the scale and the design were a real surprise.

A Hidden Spot Behind Malin Plaza

Wave Club is one of those places that is quite hard to find. From Sirirat Road in south Patong, you walk past the Malin Plaza street food market, Fisherman’s Harbour Urban Resort, and the entrance opens up to a world that feels nothing like the rest of Patong. There are no neon signs, no Bangla Road buzz, and no crowds pulling you in. Instead, you cross a wooden bridge over a green lagoon and enter a quiet village of bamboo and thatch buildings sitting on the water.

The site is shared with Thailand Mountain Phuket, a huge restaurant with a dramatic peaked thatched roof that you actually see first when you arrive from the car park. The two venues work together, with the floating market structures, bridges, kayak rental, and stage area connecting everything around a central body of water.

The Pool Club

The main draw at Wave Club is the pool, or rather, the pools. There are two large freshwater pools surrounded by thatched cabanas, day beds, and lounge areas with colourful bean bag cushions in blue, orange, green, yellow, and purple. The setup is clearly built for parties, with a circular DJ booth platform sitting in the middle of one pool and a stage with sound and lighting rigs visible above.

The cabanas come in different styles. Some are open-sided lounges with day beds and pillows facing the water. Others are private curtained cabanas with pink, turquoise, and white drapes that look made for photo shoots. There are even taller two-storey structures with upstairs platforms, which I assume become VIP areas at night.

A Long Pool With a Kayak

One of the more unusual features is a long, narrow pool that runs alongside the cabanas like a canal. A real kayak floats inside it, and you can paddle around between the lounge areas. It is a fun touch and one of those things that explains the playful, slightly chaotic charm of the whole place.

Thailand Mountain Phuket Restaurants and Floating Dining Areas

There are multiple dining zones around the lagoon. The main Thailand Mountain Phuket restaurant is huge, with high ceilings, exposed bamboo columns, and hanging paper lanterns and decorative kites. The tables are wooden, the floor is timber decking, and the open sides give views over the water and the bridges.

There is also a more casual covered dining area right at the water’s edge, under thatched parasols, with views of the central water wheel and the arched bamboo bridge. This is where I would sit if I came back, the view is the best part.

The Bridges, Boats and Photo Spots

The whole complex is connected by bamboo and metal bridges that arch over the water. There are decorated longtail boats moored along the canals, a couple of large wooden water wheels turning slowly, and small piers with floral wedding-style arches that are clearly set up for photos and events. The lagoon water is green and still, with reflections of the thatched roofs and the green hills behind.

What It’s Like at Night

I have not been at night yet, but everything I saw during my visit suggests this place is built for evenings. The stage, the DJ booth, the lighting rigs, the bar areas with bean bag seating, and the curtained cabanas all point to live music and DJ nights as the main event. The Wave Club Facebook page has been promoting Jungle Party events and similar themed nights with guest DJs, dancers, and light shows. There is also a partnership with Fisherman’s Harbour Urban Resort, which sits right next door, so guests staying there have an easy walk over.
