A Restaurant at The Slate on Nai Yang Beach
Tin Mine is the main restaurant at The Slate Phuket, a 5-star resort on Nai Yang Beach designed by the famous architect Bill Bensley. The restaurant sits next to the hotel’s main pool, surrounded by lush tropical greenery. Like everything at The Slate, the design follows the Phuket tin mining theme, with industrial details woven into the furniture, table settings, and decor.
Tin Mine is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is the highlight. The buffet is large and well put together, with a wide spread of fresh fruit, pastries, eggs cooked to order, Thai dishes, and international options. It is one of the better hotel breakfasts I have had in Phuket, and I have stayed at The Slate several times over the years. For lunch and dinner, the menu switches to a mix of Thai and international dishes. The setting is open-air, which keeps it cool even on hot days, and the tables are well spaced out.
The restaurant is only open to hotel guests and their visitors. If you are staying at The Slate and looking for something more special in the evening, Black Ginger is the resort’s fine dining Thai restaurant and one of the best on the island.
