A seaside restaurant and bar in Rawai
Rawai View Cafe is a charming little restaurant and bar with a beautiful wooden terrace overlooking the bay of Rawai Beach, in the very south of Phuket island. It’s well hidden and not on the tourist roads, but with such a superb setting, it is quickly growing in popularity. This restaurant is a good place for lunch in the shade of trees or for a romantic dinner by the sea.
Rawai View Cafe might not serve the most fabulous Thai food, but it’s quite good and so charming. It’s worth visiting if you happen to be in the south of the island.
We went there a couple of times and enjoyed a simple lunch. The team is friendly and speaks good English, which helps a lot when ordering. The menu is also in English and well-illustrated, so you won’t have a problem selecting your favourite dishes anyway.
Price Range
Price-wise, it certainly is more expensive than a local shack, but this atmosphere and views are worth it. Cocktails cost from 250 to 290 baht, a local beer 100 baht and a coke 50 baht. Food-wise, expects to pay around 120 baht for a Som Tum (that famous papaya salad), 250 baht for Tod Mang Koong (famous prawn cakes), 190 baht for some chicken satay and 250 baht for chicken cashew nuts. The legendary Tom Yum Koong also costs 250 baht.
Rawai View Cafe has a bit of live music in the evening, but we didn’t get a chance to hear it, so that will have to be for next time.
