A beach bar on Bangtao Beach

Beach Pig Phuket is a cool beach bar on Bang Tao Beach serving tacos, nachos, Thai food and cocktails; it is a perfect spot to end your beach day with a sunset over the Andaman Sea. The bar is right on the sand, just in front of the SAii Laguna Resort and is entirely made of wood with thatched roofs and bamboo. The decoration is exotic; chickens and their chicks roam freely around the eclectic furniture during the day.

The restaurant is open all day until midnight, a good place for an early lunch with your feet in the sand and the blue waters of the Andaman Sea. The place turns into a beach club in the evening with a relaxed atmosphere, music and occasional DJs events.

Beach Pig also serves breakfast from 8 am. Just look at the photos and imagine yourself starting the day with a hearty English or Thai breakfast. English breakfast includes sausages, sauteed mushrooms, slow-roasted tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans, eggs of your choice and bread for 295 baht. There are many other lighter options: bacon, two eggs and toast (185 baht), Khao Tom (rice porridge) with pork or chicken (150 baht), and even croissants and pain au chocolate set at 185 baht.

What to order

The menu for lunch and dinner fits on two pages. To give you an idea, a Phad Thai Goong (classic stir-fried noodles with prawns) costs 195 baht, Khao Phad Gai (fried rice with chicken) 175 baht, a Tom Yum Goong (spicy soup with prawns) 215 baht, Gaeng Kiow Wan Gai (green curry with chicken) 205 baht and the Gai Phad Med Mamuang (chicken cashew nuts) we had was 225 baht.
