Heaven Rooftop Restaurant

Heaven Rooftop Restaurant is a little know viewpoint terrace located just below the very famous Karon Viewpoint. Heaven bar is set in the trendy style usually found on beach club and is a great place to end the day with a sunset. Most important, it offers some pretty amazing views over the 3 bays of Kata Noi Beach, Kata Beach and Karon Beach further in the back. The food is a mix of Thai, Italian and Russian as most guests were actually Russian. The place plays some lounge or house background music, not too loud, that fits the atmosphere really well.

We had some Thai dishes and it was actually better than expected without being extraordinary (usually this kind of viewpoint restaurant are know to be below average). We ordered some Yum Woon Sen (250 baht), a Thai seafood salad with vermicelli and we were asked how spicy do we like it, since it usually is very spicy. We asked for spicy like ‘Thai spicy’ but didn’t expect much. Surprisingly, it was really hot and good. Note that the portions are quite large so don’t order too much unless you are really hungry.  All dishes cost between 230 and 350 on average, a Tiger bee r costs 100 baht, a Singha beer is 120 baht  and a Heineken 160 baht. Coke is 50 baht and fruit smoothie 180 baht. The service was very friendly and polite, something we always appreciate.

Reservations are not really necessary but recommended if you want the table in the corner, the one that gets the best of both views: sunset on one side and the 3 beaches on the other. It is also recommended to call and ask if there are any function or wedding that would spoil the atmosphere.
