A Romantic Dinner on the Beach in Phuket
Looking for the most romantic place in Phuket to propose or share an unforgettable dinner with your loved one? A romantic dinner on the beach at the Old Siam Thai Royalty Restaurant in Thavorn Beach Village is hard to beat. The setting, atmosphere and soft breeze over the sea create a pleasant atmosphere that is almost impossible to describe with words or even illustrate with photos. Sit together with your feet in the sand, have a cocktail, and admire the day ending over the ocean. This is the time you realize how lucky you are to be together.
To enjoy one of the most romantic restaurants in Phuket, it’s a good idea to arrive at the end of the afternoon, around 5.30, to have enough time to walk around the beach and the garden. As we arrived at the lobby, a receptionist walked us down to our Sala on the beach. It was truly beautiful and beautifully decorated, simple and yet very romantic. We sat at our table and first ordered a couple of drinks to enjoy while we browsed the menu. It really encourages you to slow down, take it easy and rediscover the beauty of your surroundings. We enjoyed a few cocktails while looking at the sea and the last rays of light.
As the sun set and the sky became truly beautiful, the staff lit the candles on the path to our Sala, adding the final touch to the entire place. It is simply superb. If you want to propose, this is the right time and the right place!
What to Order
You can choose between the following set menus:
Turf menu, all meats: beef striploin, lamb cutlet, beef tenderloin, chicken breast and pork tenderloin at 5200++ baht per couple.
Surf menu, which is obviously seafood: Rock lobster, prawns, crabs, sea bass, squid and other seafood skewers at 5800++ baht per couple.
Surf and Turf menu: Meat, poultry, and seafood BBQ set with Phuket lobster, sea bass, squid and seafood skewers, beef tenderloin, chicken breast, and pork tenderloin at 6500++ baht per couple.
We went for the Surf and Turf option, but it was definitely too much food, even for the two of us! Next time, we will go for the ‘a la carte‘ option with their traditional Thai menu. It’s not cheaper, but they have more choices, and the portions are more adapted to our small appetites. 4,000 ++ baht per couple.
(if you are unfamiliar with the meaning of ++, you better be, as you will find it in many hotels and high-end restaurants in Phuket! This ‘++’ means that on top of the price you listed on a menu, a 7% government tax and 10% service charge will be added)
Nakalay Beach
Nakalay Beach is only accessible to the Thavorn Beach Village Resort guests and is, therefore, always quiet. While the sand is white and soft, the sea is not good for swimming as the rocky floor is covered with coral. The bay is known to have coral and is great for snorkelling.

The Thavorn Beach Village Resort and Spa is an immense hotel built on the hillside, halfway between Patong and Kamala Beach, with very traditional Thai architecture. It features 195 rooms, suites, beach villas and one of the largest swimming pools on the island, surrounded by 14 acres of tropical garden. The hotel has its own private beach where you can snorkel and enjoy kayaking or simply relax on the beach. The resort also has an immense swimming pool and a spa for relaxing. Thavorn Beach Village Resort has several good restaurants, including some popular beach dining options, and is open to outside guests.
