About Nai Harn Beach
Nai Harn Beach is one of the most popular beaches in southern Phuket, tucked into a wide bay surrounded by green hills. The beach is about 700 metres long, with fine white sand and clear water that stays calm during most of the high season.
A large lake sits just behind the beach, separated from the sea by a strip of sand. The area around the lake is shaded by trees and is a popular spot for picnics and afternoon walks. Nai Harn is especially popular with locals and expats, giving it a different feel from the more touristy beaches further north.
There are no big hotels directly on the beach. The only large property overlooking the bay is The Nai Harn resort, set on the hillside at the southern end. A handful of restaurants line the road behind the beach, and a few vendors sell snacks and drinks on the sand.
During the monsoon season, the waves at Nai Harn can be strong, and red flags go up regularly. In the high season, it is one of the best swimming beaches on the island. For the full guide, see Nai Harn Beach.
