A shopping and dining plaza on Karon beach road

Karon Plaza, also known as Karon Bazaar, is a popular bazaar located on Beach Road in Karon Beach. It is a bustling shopping center that offers a wide range of goods and foods to tourists. The plaza is situated in a prime location, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, not far from the Karon Circle, and is easily accessible by foot, car, or motorbike. It is a colorful and vibrant place with vendors selling an array of products such as clothing, souvenirs, jewelry, handicrafts, and accessories, but it may not be as cheap as you may expect!

Karon Plaza and bazaar is open daily from 10 in the morning until 11 at night, and visitors should be aware that the bazaar is often quite hot inside, and the prices can also be unexpectedly high, so remember to bargain hard with the vendors to get a good deal on their purchases, which is a common practice in Thai markets.

More than just a large bazaar, Karon Plaza has more and more small local restaurants mostly addressing to tourists. The price of food is very reasonable, with lots of seafood, skewers, desserts and tropical fruits. The very casual atmosphere and the friendly staff goes well with the mood of people travelling to a tropical Thai beach resort.

The bazaar

The plaza features a large outdoor market that is open every day of the week, offering a variety of products including clothing, accessories, souvenirs, handicrafts, and other beach items that are popular with tourists. Many of the goods sold at Karon Plaza are t-shirts and singlets baring fake brands. local beer brands or funny catch lines, sport shoes and bags, sunglasses and caps, suitcases and lots fake brand bags. It’s fun and cheap, but remember that quality is often proportional to the price you paid.

Born in France a long long time ago, I started to travel the world early and never stopped until I settled in Thailand in 1994. Then for the past 27 years, my passion for photography and my natural curiosity has taken me to every corner of Thailand, jumping frequently between Bangkok and Phuket and basically everywhere I could go. I run Phuket101.net and manage large international online travel guides.
