COMO Point Yamu Review
COMO Point Yamu is a luxurious resort located at the very end of Cape Yamu on the east coast of Phuket, renowned for its stunning panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and the limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay in the far. COMO Point Yamu is not a hotel for everyone: it’s a hideaway far from the busy beaches of Phuket that will please those who want to escape from the world. It is important to be aware that the hotel is far from everything and there is nothing to do around unless you rent a car or book a tour.

Rooms and Suites
The accommodation at COMO Point Yamu comprises 106 rooms, suites, pool villas and 11 room types, all designed to offer spacious comfort and ocean views. The rooms offer a bright blend of modern aesthetics and Thai touches, perfect to unwind from your busy life or after a day of exploration or relaxation.
Guests can choose between the following room types:
– Bay Room (45-60 sqm), Phang Nga Pool Room (97 sqm)
– Bay Suite (100-144 sqm), Phang Nga Suite (164 sqm), Phang Nga Pool Suite (123-180 sqm), COMO Suite (300 sqm),
– One-Bedroom Pool Villa (170 sqm), Two-Bedroom Pool Villa (226 sqm), Three-bedroom Andaman Pool Villa (427sq m), Point Yamu Pool Villa (458 sqm), COMO Pool Villa (650 sqm)
The Phang Nga Pool Suite
We stayed in a Phang Nga Pool Suite, which was large and beautifully designed, but sadly had no Phang Nga view, which was a little disappointing. The sundeck comes with sofas and chairs by an infinity pool overlooking a rather muddy harbour.
The living room came with a large L-shape sofa facing a TV with a nice sound bar. On one side was a round table in an alcove, perfect for in-room dining and working on your laptop if you need to, since there is no working station. You will find a full mini bar and a great espresso machine with plenty of capsules of great coffee. There are plenty of universal plugs everywhere in the suite, including USC plugs.
The bathroom is beautiful and oversides with attractive blue tiles, a separate shower room and a central bathtub. The circular round bathtub looks great with fun lighting hanging from above, but the sides are very vertical which is rather uncomfortable. Of course, COMO Point Yamu being a 5-star resort, you can expect to find all the necessary amenities.
Restaurants, dining and bars
The resort offers two good restaurants: La Sirena and the excellent Nahmyaa. The restaurants showcase a choice of flavours, from authentic Thai cuisine to international dishes in a beautiful setting, which is great since there are not many dining options around the hotel, and you probably will spend your time there.
La Sirena
La Sirena is where you will start your day with a generous buffet breakfast. Like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant is beautifully designed, bright and spacious, with sitting inside or by the pool, which was always our preferred spot since the was shade and a welcomed breeze. In addition to a large buffet, a breakfast menu is brought to you to select eggs, omelettes and Thai breakfasts. With a view of the limestones of Phang Nga Bay in the background beyond the infinity pool, breakfast is one of the highlights of the day.
For lunch, enjoy wood-fired pizzas, Italian dishes and seafood. In the evening, the dinner menu expands to offer an array of pasta, salads, both raw and cooked seafood options, and antipasto platters.
Breakfast: 7 am – 10.30 am
Lunch: 12.00 – 5 pm
Dinner: 6.30 pm – 10 pm (last order: 9.30 pm)
Nahmyaa
Dinner at Nahmyaa was definitely another highlight of our stay at COMO Point Yamu. The restaurant serves delicious and beautifully crafted Southern Thai dishes in a charming ambience crafted by Paola Navone. We enjoyed local snacks, noodle soups, aromatic curries, and skillfully prepared stir-fried dishes. The dinner selection featured whole fish, river prawns, and delicious crabs, showcasing a fusion of hot, salty, sweet, and sour flavours that are typical of Thai cuisine. We enjoyed desserts too: pandanus jellies and sweet sticky rice with mango.
Dinner: 6.30 pm – 10 pm
Aqua Bar
Aqua Bar offers a range of beverages such as poolside cocktails, beers, wines, coffees, teas, refreshing smoothies, and nutritious juices. The bar is an open space by the pool and a cool breeze flows through.
Open: 9 am – 11 pm
