About Bang Tao Beach

Bang Tao Beach is one of the longest beaches in Phuket, stretching about 6 kilometres along the west coast. The beach is part of the Laguna Phuket resort complex, but most of the sand is open to everyone. The northern section is quieter and more natural, while the central and southern parts have more beach clubs, restaurants, and resort access points.

The sand is soft and the water is calm during the high season. Bang Tao is wide enough that it never feels crowded, even when the beach clubs are busy. Catch Beach Club and Carpe Diem are two of the most popular spots on this stretch, both offering food, drinks, and music right on the sand.

The area behind the beach has grown a lot in recent years, with new restaurants, cafes, and shops along the main road. The Boat Avenue shopping area is a short drive from the beach and has a good mix of dining and retail.

Bang Tao suits travellers who want a long, uncrowded beach with upscale dining options nearby. For the full guide, see Bang Tao Beach.
