Baan Ar Jor House Museum
Baan Ar Jor is a restored heritage house in Phuket Town, one of several historic mansions dating back to the tin mining era. The house is a fine example of Sino-Portuguese architecture, the style that gives Old Phuket Town its distinctive character.
The building has been carefully preserved and is now open to visitors as a small museum. Inside, you can see original furniture, old photographs, and personal items that belonged to the family who lived there. The rooms are arranged as they would have been in the early 20th century, giving a glimpse into how wealthy Phuket families lived during the island’s tin-boom years.
The house is located on Krabi Road, close to other historical buildings and within easy walking distance of the main old town area. It is a quiet, low-key attraction that does not take long to visit but adds useful context to a walk through the old town’s streets.
Baan Ar Jor is best combined with a broader exploration of Phuket Town, including the nearby shophouses, Chinese shrines, and street art. For the full guide, see Baan Ar Jor.
