A fun restaurant on Thalang Road
Baan 109 is a fun vintage looking restaurant as well as a casual bar on the popular Thalang Road, the historical street of Old Phuket Town where the famous Sunday Walking Street Market is held every weekend. The name ‘Baan’ means house and the number 109 is the street number.
The restaurant is in one of those typical shophouses and inside, you’ll find an eclectic collection of toys mixed with vintage objects collected along the years by the owner: typewriters, old TG set, unusual motorcycle. It’s not enough to call it a museum but it will entertain you for a while. Once your browsing is done, you can choose to sit outside as it’s equally fun to watch people walking by and all the youngster doing their endless selfie sessions.
The place is fun and friendly, making it a good stop for a break during your Phuket Town exploration. We only stopped for a drink and will return to try the Thai food, but we thought it was a fun casual place to share. Prices are very reasonable and the owner is very friendly. Definitely worth a stop.
