Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa is built into the hillside at the quiet north end of Patong Beach. The location is the whole point here: you’re across the street from the beach but away from the chaos of central Patong and Bangla Road.

The resort has 284 rooms, suites, and pool villas spread across multiple levels on the hill, which means you get views but also stairs or a shuttle ride to your room. There are two pools (one with a water slide) and a full spa. It’s a good middle ground if you want Patong’s restaurants and nightlife nearby without staying in the middle of it.

Location

The resort is at the very north end of Patong Beach on Prabaramee Road. You’re directly across the street from the beach (2-3 minute walk), but this end of Patong is much quieter than the central stretch. Jungceylon and Central shopping malls are 1 km away, Bangla Road is also 1 km south, so you’re looking at a 10-15 minute walk or quick tuk-tuk ride to get to Patong’s main action.

There are some restaurants nearby, but most dining and shopping require going into central Patong. You’re 17 km from Wat Chalong, 20 km from Phuket Town, and about 60 minutes from the airport.

What you get

The property has 284 units across rooms, suites, and pool villas. Because it’s built on a hillside, rooms are on different levels. They run a free shuttle from 6 AM to 11:30 PM if your room is higher up. All rooms have balconies, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, minibar, and free Wi-Fi. The suites have Jacuzzis, and the pool villas (one or two bedrooms) come with private pools and sea views.

There are two pools: one with ocean views and sunset views, the other with a water slide for families. Diamond Spa is on-site, there’s a fitness center, tennis court, kids’ house with activities, and meeting rooms. Free parking. They charge a 1,000 baht per day security deposit at check-in (returned within 30 days).

Dining

The resort has four restaurants covering different cuisines: seafood grill, Japanese, Thai, and international. There’s also a poolside bar and 24-hour room service. Right across the street from the hotel is Sea Salt Lounge & Grill, an independent beachfront restaurant that’s become popular with both hotel guests and locals. Franco Roma (Italian) is 200 meters away. Breakfast costs extra unless you book a package that includes it.

Who It Works For

This works best for people who want to be near Patong but not in the thick of it. The north end location gives you beach access without the noise and crowds of central Patong. Families do well here with the kids’ pool, water slide, and kids’ activities. Couples who want quiet evenings but easy access to Patong’s restaurants will appreciate the setup. The main consideration is the hillside layout. If you have mobility issues, the multiple levels and stairs can be challenging, even with the shuttle service.

Some guests love the elevated position for the views, while others find it inconvenient. Also, while you’re across from the beach, this end of Patong Beach can get crowded during high season with jet skis and water sports. If you want a quiet beach day, you’ll need to drive to Karon or Kamala. But if you want convenience to Patong’s dining and nightlife with a quieter home base, this delivers that balance.
