Cassia Phuket Review

Cassia Phuket is a large contemporary hotel and a service apartment with a unique creative concept by the famous Banyan Tree. This affordable 4-star hotel stands above a large lagoon in the Bang Tao Beach area and is part of the Laguna Complex. The hotel is very different from any hotel we visited in Phuket: the place is young, vibrant and colourful, and the team is very friendly and ensures your holiday is as comfortable and fun as possible. Cassia Phuket is a great hotel for long stays and travellers looking for a convenient workplace overseas.

The hotel is large but not overwhelming, with 218 stylish rooms, one or two-bedroom apartment units with a kitchen, two swimming pools, a small fitness room, a large restaurant and a surprisingly large convenience store.

Vista Restaurant

Vista Restaurant at Cassia Phuket is vast and as colourful as the rest of the hotel. The dining area is immense, divided between a vast indoor space and an outdoor terrace overlooking the pool. The menu offers a mix of Thai and Western dishes at very good prices.

The Beach of Bang Tao

Cassia Phuket is not on the beach itself but just 200 meters away, and a free shuttle boat gently takes you from the hotel pier to the beach.

You can also use one of the small electric scooters available near the reception, and it’s fun and safe to use within Laguna Complex.  Once on the beach, guests can find many small restaurants, beach chairs with umbrellas and beach massages.

Boat Avenue

The guests of Cassia Phuket can enjoy the vast choice of trendy but affordable restaurants and bars at the popular Boat Avenue, just 1,3 km away and accessible by free shuttle. There is a shopping village (Porto de Phuket) and a vast supermarket (Villa Market).

What’s Great For Kids

Play Play kids club operates from 9 am to 8:30 pm daily with full supervision, some of the longest hours at any Laguna property. The spacious indoor room has floor-to-ceiling windows, toys, games, and arts and crafts. There’s a large games room for teens with foosball and billiards, plus an outdoor playground connected to the kids’ pool. Activities include kids yoga, pool games, movie nights, and cooking classes.

Four outdoor pools, including a children’s pool with a slide. All 309 units are apartment-style. Studio suites, one-bedroom lofts at 45 sqm, and two-bedroom suites at 60-65 sqm. Every unit has a full kitchen, separate living area, dining area, balcony, and washer/dryer. This makes a significant difference for families staying a week or more, as you can prepare breakfast and snacks rather than eating every meal at restaurants.

The property is also pet-friendly. The trade-off is beach access. You’re 457 metres from the sand and need the shuttle, while the other Laguna properties have direct beachfront. For families who prioritise self-catering facilities and longer stays, this won’t matter. For those wanting to walk straight onto the beach, consider the other options.

Two restaurants plus a café that functions as a 24-hour convenience store. Full access to all 30+ Laguna restaurants.

Good for: Families staying a week or longer who want full kitchen facilities at the best value within the Laguna complex.
