A Cafe in Koh Yao Noi

Cafe Kantary is a small, modern cafe on Koh Yao Noi, run by the same group behind the Cape Kudu Hotel just across the road. The cafe sits on the east side of the island, facing the sea, with a clean, air-conditioned interior that makes a welcome break from the heat when you are exploring the island by scooter.

The menu covers coffee, tea, smoothies, fresh juices, and a good selection of cakes and pastries. Everything is well presented and a step above what you usually find on a small island. The iced coffee is good, and the cakes are baked fresh. It is the kind of place where you can sit for an hour, cool down, and recharge before heading back out.

The cafe is part of the Cape Kantary hotel property, but it is open to everyone, not just hotel guests. The setting is simple and attractive, with large windows looking out toward the water. There is nothing else quite like it on Koh Yao Noi, where most cafes are basic local Thai shops.

I stopped at Cafe Kantary several times during a stay at Cape Kudu, which is right across the road. It became a daily habit. The quality of the coffee and pastries was consistently good, and the staff were friendly and relaxed. If you are spending a day or two on Koh Yao Noi, it is worth knowing about. For more about the island, see Koh Yao Noi, and for restaurants on Koh Yao Noi.

Café Kantary from Cape Kantary Hotel is a small and cosy coffee shop near the sea. As you explore the island, you can stop for a sweet treat with tea, coffee or a smoothie and cool down in the air-conditioned room.
