What to Do at Phuket Boat Lagoon Marina
Phuket Boat Lagoon was the first marina built in Phuket several decades ago, and at the time, it was one of the trendiest places for residents and expats. While it is just next to another famous marina (Royal Phuket Marina), Phuket Boat Lagoon is more a living Marina than its counterpart. It might be less fancy, but it is a residential marina. On one side is the residential area with shophouse-style houses; on the other, you can choose one of the many casual restaurants and bars set by the waterfront. Phuket Boat Lagoon is 10 kilometres north of Phuket Town.
A large area on the side is dedicated to boating maintenance and repair, an occasion to admire a superb collection of yachts in the water or standing on hardstands (Marina & Boat Repairs With 180 wet berths, 144 hardstands and 12 dry stacking bays)
Near the main road, anyone can stop to enjoy a living mall with coffee shops and a vast supermarket, plus a good independent spa and even a wedding chapel!
Where to Eat at Phuket Boat Lagoon
Dean and Deluca at Boat Lagoon
The latest dining arrival at Boat Lagoon is Dean and Deluca, and they took over the best spot at the runabout and in front of the luxury area with some oversized luxury yachts are moored. This spot used to be the trendiest place to have dinner in Phuket, but it has become slightly blended and lost its shine.
Several other restaurants a little further may not carry big brand names but are somehow more appealing:
Les Diables is a patisserie restaurant serving cakes and brunches. We had a delicious quiche Lorraine with salad and fries at Les Diables (see photo), and their wine list is attractive.
Le Winch is an excellent and long-established restaurant serving French Mediterranean by Chef Vincent Meuwly from Switzerland. They seem to take great pride in the quality of their ingredients, and we had several great dinners at Le Winch. (084 842 8228)
Portofino is a cosy Italian restaurant with both indoor and outdoor sitting. Their homemade pasta and pizzas and the risotto fungi are recommended. They also serve a selection of Thai dishes (095 582 2378)
La Taverna Italian restaurant, pizzeria and wine bar, have been open for a decade and has had some ups and downs. They also have BBQ Fridays with live music. It has indoor and outdoor sitting. Reasonably priced (076 273 417)
Suwanhong is a modest Thai restaurant and bar near the Boat Lagoon ’lighthouse’, also serving decently priced breakfast.
Shopping at Boat Lagoon
Villa Market
The main shopping at Boat Lagoon is, without a doubt, Villa Market, a high-end retail shop selling a mix of great local products and an immense selection of imported goods. Their wine cellar is also impressive.
What to Do
Ice Arena
If you are not lucky enough to own a yacht, there are a few fun things to do at Boat Lagoon. Adults and kids can enjoy ‘Ice Arena‘ an indoor ice skating rink on a tropical island! Perfect for a rainy day in Phuket.
Dragon Gym Taekwondo
The mini-mall also features a gym and Taekwando classes that is very popular with kids.
Let’s Relax Spa
Let’s Relax Spa is also great for an occasional rainy day, but it is great anytime. Because it is an independent brand that doesn’t belong to a hotel, it is relatively cheaper.

Phuket Boat Lagoon also has a resort with large pools and 5 room types to choose from. Because of its distance to beaches (16km from Patong Beach) and downtown Phuket (8 km to Old Phuket Town), it is most popular with groups and seminars.
