Banana Beach
Banana Beach is a small, hard-to-find beach on Phuket’s west coast, tucked between Nai Thon and Bang Tao. The beach is about 200 metres long, surrounded by thick vegetation, and feels completely cut off from the rest of the island.
Getting there requires a short walk down a steep, uneven path through the trees. There is no proper road access, which is why the beach stays quiet even in peak season. The sand is soft, the water is clear, and there are no sunbeds or umbrellas for rent. Natural shade from the trees along the back of the beach keeps things comfortable.
Snorkelling is decent near the rocks at both ends of the beach, especially during the high season when the water is calm, and visibility is good. A small restaurant operates on the beach during the busy months, serving basic Thai food and drinks.
Banana Beach is one of those spots that still feels like the Phuket of 20 years ago. It is not easy to reach, but that is exactly what keeps it special. For the full guide, see Banana Beach.
