Private Beach Between Patong and Kamala
Yae Beach (sometimes spelt Yaeh Beach) is a small secluded cove on the cape between Patong and Kamala, on Phuket’s west coast. The beach is less than 250 metres long and sits at the foot of a jungle-covered hillside, framed by granite boulders and tropical greenery. It is essentially a private beach for guests of The Naka Phuket, a 90-villa design hotel that sits on the hillside directly above it.

The sand is soft, and the water can be clear, but conditions change a lot depending on the tide and the season. During high season (November to April), the sea is usually calm enough for swimming, and there is decent snorkelling around the rocks on either side. Water shoes are a good idea because the seabed is rocky in places. During the low season (May to October), the water gets rough, and swimming is not recommended. At low tide, much of the rocky shore is exposed, and the beach shrinks considerably.

The Naka Phuket keeps the beach clean and well-maintained. There is a small beach bar run by the hotel, and SUP boards and kayaks are available for guests. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can still reach Yae Beach by longtail boat from Patong or Kamala. By road, the access is through the hotel grounds, and there are no signs pointing to the beach from the main road.

I have stopped at Yae Beach a few times while driving the coast road between Patong and Kamala. It is worth a quick look if you are already in the area, but I would not make a special trip. The beach is too small and too dependent on tide conditions to be a destination on its own. The nearby viewpoints along the same road offer better views with easier access. If you are considering staying at The Naka Phuket, the beach is a genuine bonus. It feels completely private, and the hotel’s remote location on the headland keeps it quiet even during peak season.
About The Naka Phuket

The Naka Phuket is a 5-star design hotel with 90 pool villas scattered up the hillside above Yae Beach. The villas are modern and angular, with private balconies and panoramic views over the Andaman Sea towards Patong Bay. The resort is a member of Design Hotels and is popular with couples and honeymooners looking for privacy.
There is an all-day restaurant, a hilltop bar, a spa and an infinity pool. The location is remote by Phuket standards. Patong is about 10 minutes by car and Kamala roughly the same, but taxis cost around 450 baht each way. That isolation is part of the appeal.
