Quan Spa is the full-service spa at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, set on the quiet northern stretch of Mai Khao Beach. The spa is tucked inside the resort grounds, surrounded by tropical gardens and connected by covered walkways. It has eight treatment rooms, steam rooms and an outdoor massage sala, so you can choose between an air-conditioned room or an open-air setting.
The menu blends traditional Thai techniques with more modern spa treatments. The signature therapy is the Hot Sand Massage, where heated sand pouches infused with Thai herbs are pressed across the body to release muscle tension and improve flexibility. It is inspired by the beach setting of the resort itself. Other popular options include the Oriental Energizing Ritual, which uses a warm massage candle made with shea butter, and the Deep Renewal Massage for anyone arriving stiff from a long flight or a day of sightseeing. There is also a classic Thai massage using acupressure and stretching, a hot stone massage, and a Bubble Bliss bath using local Thai herbs and tamarind.
Couple’s treatments are available if you want to share a session in a double treatment room. Facials and body scrubs round out the menu. The spa draws on natural botanicals and local ingredients rather than heavy commercial products.
The resort sits next to Sirinat National Park, which makes the surroundings feel quieter and more private than spas closer to Patong or Kata. Mai Khao Beach is Phuket’s longest beach and one of the least crowded, so the whole area has a slower pace. The resort is only about 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, which makes Quan Spa a good first or last stop if you want to start or end your trip with a proper treatment.
Booking ahead is recommended, especially during high season. You do not need to be a hotel guest to use the spa, but availability for outside visitors may be limited.
