Patong Beach Video
Patong Beach is the busiest and most popular beach in Phuket. The beach stretches about 3 kilometres along the west coast, with soft sand and warm, clear water for most of the year. It is the centre of tourism on the island, with hundreds of hotels, restaurants, and shops packed into the streets behind the beach.
During the day, the beach is lined with sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. Jet skis, parasailing, and banana boats are available along the southern half. The northern end tends to be a bit quieter. Swimming is good in the high season from November to April, though the sea can get rough during the monsoon months.
At night, Patong comes alive. Bangla Road is the main nightlife strip, full of bars, clubs, and street performers. The area around Jungceylon Shopping Mall is another busy spot, with restaurants and entertainment for families.
Patong is not the prettiest beach on the island, but it is by far the most convenient. Everything is within walking distance, and the energy is unlike anywhere else in Phuket. For the full guide, see Patong Beach.
