Mövenpick Myth Hotel Patong is a 5-star hotel with 235 rooms on one of the busiest streets in Patong. We liked the unique design: the whole building draws from Phuket’s Sino-Portuguese heritage, and it works well. It doesn’t look like every other modern hotel in Patong.

Patong Beach is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. Not right on the sand, but close enough. The hotel runs a free tuk-tuk shuttle to the beach and Jungceylon mall, which saves you from the heat. Book your seat early, though, it’s first-come, first-served with only 7 spots per ride. Bangla Road is less than 1 km away.

Rooms

Rooms start at 43 sqm for the Deluxe category, which is generous for Patong. All rooms have balconies facing the pool, a bathtub, Nespresso machine, and a 43-inch TV. The Deluxe Pool Access rooms on level 1 let you walk straight into the pool from your terrace, and some come with a private jacuzzi. The Family Suite at 62 sqm has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and fits 2 adults and 2 children. Good setup if you’re travelling with kids. The biggest option is the 81 sqm King’s Heritage Suite.

Pool and Facilities

The pool is the best thing about this hotel. It’s a free-form design with two waterfalls, a swim-up bar called Azure, and a separate children’s pool. Guests consistently mention the pool as their favourite part. A VIDA Spa on the second floor does Thai and Swedish massages. The gym is on the third floor, well-equipped but compact.

Dining and Restaurants

Átrio Restaurant handles breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a mix of Thai and international food. The breakfast buffet gets good reviews. Barrocco is the lobby bar on level 2, where you can grab cocktails or catch the daily Chocolate Hour, a Mövenpick tradition where they serve complimentary chocolate treats every afternoon for an hour.

Átrio Restaurant

Átrio Restaurant is the hotel’s main dining venue, set in the lobby atrium at the foot of a grand staircase. The open kitchen runs live cooking stations for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a menu that mixes Thai dishes, Italian pastas and risottos, imported cold cuts, and a solid cheese selection. The daily breakfast buffet is the meal most guests talk about. Átrio is also known for its popular Sunday brunch, Myth’s Brunch, a generous spread of European and Thai food that has become one of the better hotel brunches in Patong. Book ahead, it fills up.

Kids

The hotel has a Little Birds Club for children, plus a children’s pool and indoor play area. Babysitting can be arranged on request. Family suites give kids their own bedroom, which makes bedtime a lot easier.

Who Should Stay Here

Mövenpick Myth works for couples wanting a well-designed hotel near Patong’s nightlife, and for families who like having a kids club and pool access rooms. If you want to be right on the beach, this isn’t it. But if you want a hotel with real character and good facilities at a fair price for a 5-star, it’s one of the better options in Patong.
