A Walking Guide to Krabi Road
Krabi Road in Phuket Town runs parallel to the more famous Thalang Road, but it’s got something Thalang doesn’t. This street feels less polished and more real. The Sino-Portuguese shophouses here are some of the best preserved in the old town, and many still function as homes and small businesses rather than souvenir shops.

Go Benz has been serving noodles here for years, and K Park next to Blue Elephant is one of the few green spaces in this part of town. I’d allow about an hour to walk the whole stretch comfortably.
Chinpracha House (Baan Chinpracha) is one of the most beautiful mansions in Phuket, and it is spread all around Phuket Town. Chinpracha House is somehow unique and in its original condition ...

San Chao Cho Ong, or Tai Yuan Tang, is a small but very old Chinese shrine on the corner of Patiphat Road and Krabi Road in Phuket Town. It doesn’t draw big crowds like the famous Jui Tui Shrine nearby, but it is an important place for the local Hokkien Chinese community. The shrine is dedicated to Cho Ong Tai Te, a guardian deity believed to protect the community from illness and misfortune. Many locals stop here to make offerings and light incense, especially during the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival. You can easily spot San Chao Cho Ong when walking ...
