Sawasdee Village Resort & Spa is one of those places that feels a bit hidden, even though it’s right in the middle of Kata. It sits just off the main road, but the moment you step through the gate, the noise fades and you’re surrounded by greenery, lotus ponds, and carved wood walkways. It’s small and easy to miss, but that’s part of the charm.

The design leans heavily into traditional Thai décor—warm tones, lots of details, and a bit of that old-style Phuket atmosphere. Rooms are compact but nicely done, with dark wood, silk cushions, and little balconies that look out over the gardens or the winding pool. Some rooms offer direct pool access, which feels almost like having a canal outside your door.

One of the main draws here is the Baray Spa. It’s been around for a while and still gets good feedback for its Thai and Ayurvedic treatments. The space is peaceful, with soft lighting and calming scents that hit you as soon as you walk in. It’s the kind of place where people tend to lose track of time.

The resort has two restaurants on site. Sawasdee Thai Cuisine focuses on local dishes served in a classic Thai setting, while Fork & Spoon offers international choices. There’s also a pool bar for lighter bites and drinks during the day. Breakfast is a mix of Thai and Western options—simple but enough to get you going.

Kata Beach is about a 10-minute walk from the resort, though there’s a free shuttle every hour if you’d rather ride. Shops, massage places, and small restaurants are all within easy reach, but the resort itself stays fairly quiet.

Sawasdee Village isn’t trying to be a flashy luxury resort. It’s more about atmosphere and character. If you like small places with a bit of soul—and don’t mind being a few steps away from the beach—it’s an interesting option that still stands out after all these years.
