Hotels close to the beach in Karon!
While they don’t offer direct beach access, many of them face the ocean and some have rooftop pools or rooms with sea views. They are usually more affordable than the very few beachfront hotels and still offer the convenience of being just steps away from Karon’s long and beautiful beach.
Beyond Karon is one of the few hotels in Karon Beach that actually sits right on the sand. There’s no road to cross — just a few steps from the pool and you’re on the beach. That alone makes it quite special, especially if you don’t want to walk far or wait at a crossing.
We booked one of the rooms facing the sea, and the view was exactly what we were hoping for — nothing in front of us but the pool, the beach and the water. The room was not big, but it felt comfortable, with a balcony just big enough to sit outside with a drink in the evening. Some rooms on the side look over the pool, which might be a good pick if you want more shade during the day.
Since it’s an adults-only resort, the whole place stays quiet. No loud music by the pool, no shouting — just a calm vibe. There are two swimming pools, and we ended up using the one closer to the restaurant because it was less busy in the afternoon. Breakfast was served right by the beach, which was a nice way to start the day without needing to go anywhere.
You can walk to a few massage shops and local restaurants in under five minutes, but once you’re inside the resort, it feels separate from the street. Read more

This 5-star resort has 262 rooms, suites and villas, each with sea views from a balcony or terrace. Each room also features a bathtub or outdoor jacuzzi and either a king-sized bed or 2 double beds.
A highlight of Centara Grande is certainly its super-fun water park with lazy river, waterfalls and waterslides, plus 4 swimming pools with a children’s pool. Phuket Emerald Beach Resort is located right across the street from Karon Beach. It takes less than a minute to reach the sand, and there’s a pedestrian crossing directly in front of the hotel. Karon Beach here is wide and usually not too busy — good for swimming or just walking along the shore.
The resort has a modern layout. The garden area is smaller than older resorts in Karon, but nicely kept, with palm trees and tidy pathways connecting the rooms and pool areas. There are two main pools — one with a fun slide for kids and another quieter one more suited for adults. The rooms are bright and spacious, with balconies facing the pool or garden.
Karon town is 1 km north of the hotel, where you will find many restaurants and shops. If you want even more choices or feel like enjoying another beautiful beach, the small town of Kata is 2 km south. Phuket Emerald Beach Resort is a good pick if you want to stay close to the beach, especially if you’re travelling with family!

Thavorn Palm Beach Resort Phuket
Thavorn Palm Beach Resort sits just across the street from Karon Beach, so getting to the sand takes less than a minute. There’s a crossing right in front of the hotel, making beach access easy and safe. Karon Beach is quiet and great for swimming.
The resort is built on a large piece of land with beautifully kept tropical gardens, ponds, and little walking paths. It feels more like a peaceful park than a typical beachfront hotel. We really liked walking through the gardens between buildings — a nice change from the usual hotel layout.
There are several swimming pools spread across the property, so it never feels crowded. Some pools are better for kids, while others are quieter and more private. Rooms are spacious, and many have balconies facing the garden or pool. The design is classic but well-maintained. Karon town is 1.5 km away, and Kata town is about 2 km to the south — both easy to reach by tuk-tuk or on foot if it’s not too hot.

Paradox Resort Phuket
Paradox Resort Phuket is a large resort in Karon Beach that we found surprisingly peaceful despite its size. The resort is set on a big property with tropical gardens, and even though it’s not directly on the sand, it still feels very close to the beach.🏖️Depending on which building you stay in, the walk to the beach varies a little. If you're in the main hotel building, it takes about 4 to 5 minutes to walk through the gardens and cross the small road to get to Karon Beach. The villas and the Saeng Chan Wing are closer, only about 2 to 3 minutes. If you book one of the beachfront residences, those are just steps from the sand, right across the road.
Karon Beach itself is wide and long, with soft sand and good swimming. It’s not too crowded, even during the high season, which we liked. The resort has several pools spread out around the property, plus a fitness centre, a spa, and a handful of restaurants serving Thai and international food. There’s also a kids’ club, so it’s good for families. We think Paradox is a solid option if you want space, greenery, and easy beach access in Karon.

Karon Sea Sands Resort is one of the most convenient hotels in Karon Beach if you want to stay close to the sea. It’s located just across the road from the beach, and there's a pedestrian crossing right in front. From the lobby, it takes less than a minute to be on the sand. Karon Beach is long, quiet, and great for swimming, especially compared to the busier beaches in Patong.
We liked that everything was within walking distance — restaurants, massage shops, convenience stores, and even the Karon Temple night market are all nearby. It’s easy to explore the area on foot without needing taxis.
The rooms are large and well-maintained, most with balconies. Some offer pool views, and a few face the sea. The pool is big and includes a separate shallow area for kids, plus a pool bar. There’s also a fitness room and a restaurant serving Thai and Western food.
Karon Sea Sands is a solid mid-range choice for travellers who want to stay right by the beach but still be close to town life. It feels more relaxed than Patong and suits couples, families, or anyone looking for a quieter beach holiday.

Karon Princess Hotel
Karon Princess Hotel is in a great spot if you want to stay close to the beach without paying beachfront prices. The hotel is just across the road from Karon Beach, and it takes less than a minute to reach the sand. There's a pedestrian crossing right in front, so it's safe and easy to access. The beach here is wide, clean, and great for swimming, with fewer people than in Patong.
The hotel is right in the middle of Karon, so it’s also close to restaurants, convenience stores, massage shops, and a few local markets. You can walk to most places in the area, and there’s plenty of street food nearby in the evenings.
The hotel itself is simple and a bit older, but the rooms are clean and spacious, with balconies facing the garden or the sea. There’s a medium-sized pool in the back, and the restaurant serves Thai and international food. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed.
It’s a good option for travellers who want to stay just steps from the beach in a quiet, convenient location, without the busy party scene of Patong.
