Asian-inspired tapas izakaya in Patong Beach

Bon Pan Asian Tapas is an attractive new creative restaurant in Patong Beach, with a unique style, blending food cultures across Asia, from Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mongolian to Japanese specialities. The restaurant is designed with red tones and downlights, creating an elegant yet casual decor, the kind of trendy restaurant you would find in big cities.

The main dining room has a beautiful open kitchen on one entire side as it often is in Japanese izakaya, allowing guests to sit and eat at the counter and watch chefs skilfully preparing their dishes, and bartenders mixing cocktails. You can also sit in the main dining room or that the front terrace.

What to order at Bon Pan Asian Tapas

As it was our first visit, we enjoyed the ‘Discovery Set’ (980 baht) with tonkatsu ramen with tamago, pork gyoza and ‘Sashimi Trio’ and a delicious pandan creme brulee as dessert. It was excellent and beautifully presented and we’ll definitely go back for a full-scale experience, including the chef’s specials: braised pork belly kakuni (180 baht) and red braised pork belly (380 baht).

The izakaya skewers looked really appetizing and creative: Chinese lamb (90 baht), Korean octopus (90 baht), Malaysian beef (90 baht), Shitake mushroom (50 baht), beef tongue (90 baht), Vietnamese chicken (90 baht). Other dishes include sashimi, takoyaki (200 baht) and fun dishes to try such as coconut chicken karage (280 baht) and spicy tuna volcano (280 baht). On the main dish side, try the black Japanese cod (590 baht), and Australian Angus striploin (750 baht), or treat yourself to the ultimate signature dish: Busyu A3 Japanese Wagyu (19750 baht).

Bon Pan Asian Tapas also serves a great selection of sake, wines and skilfully prepared cocktails.
