A Thai Restaurant in Surin Beach
Tukta Food & Drink is one of the last restaurants still standing on Surin Beach. It survived the beach cleanup that removed all the beach clubs and restaurants years ago, mostly because it’s built on the rocks at the very south end of the beach, not directly on the sand.
That worked out well for everyone. The restaurant is now the go-to spot for anyone spending a day at Surin. We go back often, and it’s always busy, especially around sunset. The location is hard to beat. You’re right on the water with waves crashing below, and the food is honest Thai cooking at fair prices. Nothing fancy, just good pad thai, fried rice, som tam, and seafood dishes done right.

The place has multiple levels built into the rocky hillside. Most people grab a table on the ground floor and miss the best part. There’s a staircase tucked away at the back that takes you up to the upper floors. Go up there. The views over Surin Bay are much better from the top, and it’s usually less crowded.

Ground level can get packed during high season, so arriving before noon or after 2 pm helps. The staff are friendly, but sometimes stretched thin when every table is full. Be patient with the wait times on busy days.
Tukta opens at 9:30 am and closes at 9 pm, making it good for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner. Cold beer, fresh coconuts, and fruit shakes are all on the menu if you just want drinks after swimming. Parking at Surin Beach is limited, so come early or grab a taxi.
It’s not a fine dining experience. It’s a casual beach restaurant where you eat good food with sand still on your feet. That’s exactly why people love it.
