A Beautiful Waterfall in the Jungle of Phang Nga
Ton Phrai Waterfall is one of Phang Nga’s most majestic natural attractions, situated within the lush expanse of Khao Lampi-Hat Thai Mueang National Park. Towering approximately 40 meters high, this impressive cascade is best known for its dramatic vertical drop, where water flows down a steep, rocky slope rather than free-falling, creating a beautiful, veil-like effect over the dark stone.
Reaching the waterfall requires a short but scenic 600-meter walk through a dense, evergreen rainforest. The trail offers a genuine jungle experience, surrounded by bamboo groves, exotic vegetation, and even the sounds of local wildlife. Once you reach the waterfall, you will discover a large, deep pool at the base, which is perfect for a refreshing swim, though the rocks can be slippery.
The waterfall is most spectacular during the rainy season (May to November), when the water volume is at its peak, transforming the stream into a powerful, roaring white torrent. In the dry season, it becomes a more gentle, tranquil trickle. As part of a national park, a small entrance fee helps maintain the pristine environment, making it a quiet, uncrowded alternative to the busier tourist spots in nearby Phuket or Khao Lak.
