Pacific Club Resort

A popular hillside hotel with a SkyPool in Karon Beach

Pacific Club Resort is a boutique hotel on a quiet hill in Karon Beach, about a 10-minute walk from the beach. It’s a smaller property with just 33 rooms, which keeps things relaxed and personal. The hotel has built a loyal following with travellers who want quality, good facilities, and friendly service without paying big resort prices. I stayed recently and can see why it works so well.

The rooftop SkyPool is the star attraction here. It sits on the 8th floor and stretches 30 metres long with views over Karon Beach and the surrounding hills. There are alcoves along the pool with in-water tables, a waterfall feature, and plenty of sun loungers. Because the hotel only has 33 rooms, you’ll never fight for a spot. It’s open 24/7, so you can swim at night under the lights if you want.

The Rooms

Pacific Club Karon Beach

The rooms come in four types. Deluxe Rooms are the entry level, compact but comfortable with king beds or twin queens. Studio Suites are bigger with a wet bar and dining area. One-bedroom suites with a separate living room and kitchenette. Two-bedroom suites are ideal for families, with a full kitchen, living room, and bunk beds for kids in a separate room. All rooms have Tuscan travertine bathrooms with granite counters, and every unit is slightly different since it’s a boutique property.

I stayed in One-bedroom suites with a separate living room and kitchenette, and it was perfect to relax and even work (yes, I do!)

Spa and Wellness

Pacific Club Karon Beach

Pacific Club has some unusual wellness facilities. The Chinese Herbal Steam Sauna is modelled on the design from Hideaway, a well-known six-star resort. There’s also a heated 10-person hydrotherapy jacuzzi with powerful jets, available 24/7 for guests. These facilities are complimentary from 4:30 pm to 11 pm daily. The Saneha Spa on-site offers proper massage and treatment packages if you want something more. There’s also a small gym with free weights, machines, and a ping pong table.

The Restaurant

Pacific Club Karon Beach

Saneha Restaurant is on the ground floor, surrounded by a garden courtyard. Breakfast is simple but good, served buffet style with an egg station. I tried the pasta for dinner, a tagliatelle with rich tomato sauce, olives, and grilled vegetables. It was nicely cooked and generous. They serve Thai and international dishes at reasonable prices, and you can eat in the restaurant or anywhere around the resort.

Nearby Karon Beach

Karon Beach

Karon Beach is one of the nicest stretches of sand on the island. It’s long and wide, with soft golden sand and clear water. Unlike Patong, it never gets too crowded, even in high season. You’ll find sun loungers and umbrellas for rent along the shore if you want to spend the day there. The beach road has plenty of local restaurants where you can grab lunch with a sea view. Fresh seafood, cold drinks, and your feet in the sand. It’s an easy walk from the hotel, and the free shuttle makes it even simpler.

Location and Practical Info

Pacific Club Resort in Karon Beach

The hotel is up a steep hill from the main road, but they offer a free shuttle to Karon Beach. Walking down takes about 10 minutes; walking back up is a bit more effort. You’re close to local restaurants and shops, and the Karon Temple night market on Tuesdays and Fridays is just a short walk away. Patong is about 6 km north if you want nightlife.

Pacific Club Resort won the Luxury Lifestyle Awards in 2025 for best boutique resort, and honestly, it deserves the recognition. It’s not a big, flashy resort, but that’s the point. If you want somewhere quiet with good facilities, genuine service, and excellent value, this is one of the best options in Karon. One thing that really stands out about Pacific Club is the staff. They’re genuinely warm and helpful, not the stiff service you sometimes get at bigger hotels. You get the feeling they actually care that you’re enjoying your stay.

Pacific Club Resort in Karon Beach

Overall, Pacific Club Resort is perfect if you want something smaller, quieter, and a bit more personal than the big resorts. It’s an easy base for exploring Karon Beach, Kata, and even Patong if you’re up for a night out. And the value for money is excellent. If you like the idea of a little boutique spot with a great pool and a friendly vibe, this is definitely one to check out.

After travelling through 40+ countries and working with Club Med and Expedia, I launched Phuket 101 in 2011 to share what I've explored, discovered and learned.
