Layalina Hotel
Layalina Hotel is a small, quiet place tucked right on the beach in Kamala. Itโs one of those hotels where you can literally step out of your room and be on the sand in seconds. We stayed in one of the sea-facing rooms, which had large windows, a small seating area, and a private bathtub next to the bed. The room had everything we needed โ nothing too fancy, but very clean and comfortable.
Thereโs also a small pool in the front, just before the beach, where we usually cooled off in the afternoon. What stood out most was the calm atmosphere, with just the sound of the waves. It felt more like staying in a private beach house than a hotel.

Kamala Beachfront Apartment is a cosy beachfront apartment located on Kamala Beach, fully equipped for an exceptional holiday experience right on the beach of Kamala. The Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort sits on the hillside at the southern end of Kamala, overlooking a quiet stretch of coastline called Rayee Beach. The hotel is just across the road from the beach, and while itโs a nice place for a walk or to sit and enjoy the view, the shore is quite rocky and not ideal for swimming. For a proper swim, Kamala Beach is about 1 kilometre north, and the hotel runs a free shuttle there a few times a day.
The resort itself is big and built across several levels, so getting around often involves stairs or waiting for a buggy. The views from the higher rooms are worth it โ you can see all the way across the bay. Rooms are modern and spacious, with balconies, and many face the sea.
One of the highlights is Casa Boho, the rooftop Mexican restaurant. The views are amazing, especially at sunset, and the cocktails were great. Thereโs also Mizu, a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant with a fun, interactive dining style.ย Between the large infinity pool, spa, and peaceful setting, this is a good spot for couples or families who want space, views, and a quiet base near Kamala. Sunwing Kamala Beach
Sunwing Kamala Beach is one of the most family-friendly resorts on Kamala Beach โ and itโs right on the sand. You can walk straight from the pool area to the beach in seconds, with no roads to cross. The beach here is one of the best on Phuketโs west coast: soft sand, calm water, and a quieter atmosphere than Patong.
The resort is clearly designed for families. We noticed right away how easy it was for parents to relax while the kids played โ there were eight pools, including smaller ones with shallow zones and a couple of fun slides. One of the pools even had a swim-up bar, which seemed to keep both adults and kids happy. Near the restaurant, there was a shaded corner with a small playground, and lots of families were spending time there in the late afternoon.
Our room was simple but very functional. We had a small dining table, a microwave, and space to store snacks โ helpful if youโre staying a few nights or more. Some of the rooms on the ground floor had doors that opened directly onto the pool, which looked great if you wanted to go for a dip without leaving your room. Itโs also clear theyโve thought about young kids โ we saw high chairs, baby cots, and even a small kidsโ buffet area at breakfast.
Kamala town is a short walk away, with small shops, restaurants, and massage places. Phuket Fantasea is also nearby if youโre looking for an evening activity.

Twinpalms MontAzure sits at the far northern end of Kamala Beach, right on a quiet stretch of sand. Itโs one of the few modern beachfront properties in this part of Phuket, surrounded by tall trees and a peaceful atmosphere. Thereโs no road between the hotel and the beach โ just a few steps from the rooms to the sand.
The hotel offers large suites and residences, many of which are designed more like serviced apartments. Some units have rooftop terraces or private pools, which makes it feel more like staying in a small holiday home than in a traditional resort.
There are two swimming pools on the property. One is set just behind the beach and looks out over the sea, with plenty of space for sunbathing. The second is a long lap-style pool tucked in the garden, usually quieter and more shaded.
Shimmer, the restaurant in front, is open all day and focuses on light Thai dishes and Asian-style seafood. Itโs also a nice spot to sit in the evening with a drink, especially during sunset.

Kamala Beach Estate Resort feels more like a private retreat than a typical hotel. Itโs set on a quiet headland at the southern end of Kamala, with a direct path to a small, almost hidden beach. From the pool area, thereโs also a short trail that leads down to the sea โ great for a swim or a quick kayak trip along the coast.
The main beach of Kamala is just five minutes away on foot. We liked being close enough to walk into town for food or a massage, but far enough to feel completely away from the crowds.
The rooms are more like small apartments. Ours had a kitchen, a living room, and a terrace with sea views. Some units open directly onto the garden or pool area, which is handy if you have kids or just want easy access.
Thereโs no restaurant on-site, but theyโll help organise food delivery, and thereโs a small team that can arrange tours or an in-room massage. This place is a good match for travellers who like quiet spaces, self-catering, and a bit more independence โ somewhere to stay a week or more and feel like you live there.

Kamala Dreams
Kamala Dreams is a small hotel right on the beach, at the quieter southern end of Kamala. Itโs not a big resort โ just two rows of studios facing the sea or the pool, with the beach only a few steps from the front. We liked that it felt simple and personal, more like a local guesthouse than a hotel.
The rooms are clean and practical, with a little kitchenette, fridge, and microwave. Itโs convenient to keep some snacks or cook a quick meal, especially for long stays. Some rooms are upstairs with sea views, while the lower ones open toward the pool or garden.
Thereโs a small swimming pool with a couple of loungers around it, and a beachfront restaurant downstairs called Charoen Seafood. We had a few meals there โ fresh fish, Thai classics, and breakfast in the morning with our feet in the sand.
Shops, massage places, and a few cafรฉs are just a short walk away. Kamala Dreams is not fancy, but itโs comfortable and peaceful. If youโre looking for a no-frills place right on the beach, with friendly service and a relaxed vibe, this place works well.
