Phuket’s Biggest Music Festival
Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is one of the largest electronic music festivals in the world, and since 2025 it has called Phuket home for its Southeast Asian edition. The festival runs over three nights at Rhythm Park near Bang Tao Beach, with massive stages, art installations, carnival rides, fireworks, and dozens of international DJs across house, techno, trance, drum and bass, and hardstyle. EDC Thailand has quickly become the biggest music event on the island and one of the most significant in Asia.
EDC Thailand – December 2026
The next edition of EDC Thailand runs from 18 to 20 December 2026 at Rhythm Park in the Laguna Phuket area. This is the third year of the festival in Phuket, and the dates have moved from January to December, aligning with the peak tourist season when international visitors are already on the island.
The lineup has not been announced yet. Early Owl passes are already on sale through the official website. This section will be updated with ticket prices, the full lineup, and side events as details are confirmed.

What is EDC?
Electric Daisy Carnival was created by Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac Events. It started in 1997 as a warehouse party in Los Angeles and has since grown into one of the biggest live music brands in the world. The flagship event is EDC Las Vegas, which draws over 150,000 people per night and was voted the second-best festival in the world by DJ Mag.
EDC is not just a music festival. It is built around a full carnival experience, with rides, circus performers, art installations, and massive pyrotechnic shows alongside the music. The production standards are among the highest of any festival anywhere. Over the years, EDC has expanded to Mexico, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, China, and now Thailand.
A Thai promoter, Billions EDC Co., Ltd., purchased the rights and invested over one billion baht to bring the brand to Phuket. Insomniac Events handles the production and stage design. The partnership has a five-year commitment, meaning EDC Thailand is expected to run in Phuket through at least 2029.
The Venue
Rhythm Park is a purpose-built festival ground near Boat Avenue in the Laguna Phuket area, in the Cherngtalay district. The venue was introduced for the January 2026 edition after the 2025 debut outgrew its original location at Boat Avenue Lakefront. Rhythm Park covers roughly 345,000 square metres, almost double the 2025 venue, with better layouts and more space between stages.
The location puts the festival within a few minutes of Bang Tao Beach and the Laguna resort complex. Restaurants, beach clubs, and hotels are all close by. Getting to and from the venue is straightforward during the festival, though roads in the Bang Tao area do get busy around opening and closing times.
Where to Stay
The most convenient area to stay is around Bang Tao and Laguna, where you can walk or take a short ride to the venue. Hotels near Bang Tao Beach fill up fast once EDC dates are announced, so booking early is important.
EDC typically offers official Hotel EDC packages at Angsana Laguna Phuket, which include accommodation, festival passes, breakfast, dining credits, and access to exclusive pool and beach parties. These are premium packages but give you the full integrated experience.
If you prefer to stay elsewhere, Surin Beach and Kamala Beach are 15 to 20 minutes away and tend to have more availability. Patong Beach is further but has the most hotel rooms on the island. Just make sure you arrange transport in advance, as taxis and ride apps get very busy during the festival.
Side Events and Beach Club Parties
EDC week in Phuket is more than the three main festival nights. Organisers and local venues typically run a full week of events around the festival, including pre-parties, after-parties, and beach club takeovers.
In previous years, side events have been held at venues like Maya Beach Club, Xana Beach Club, Illuzion Phuket, and Yona Beach Club. The lineup and schedule change each year, but there is usually an official opening beach party the day before the festival starts and after-parties running into the early morning at venues in Patong and Bang Tao.
Tips for Attending
Arrive early to avoid long queues at the entrance. The gates can get crowded in the first hour. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet for many hours, and the ground at Rhythm Park is uneven in places. Bring a power bank for your phone. Signal can be patchy inside the venue with tens of thousands of people connected at the same time.
Stay hydrated. Even in December and January, Phuket nights are warm and humid, and you will be dancing. Water stations are available inside, but bringing a small empty bottle to refill is useful.
If you are not staying near Laguna, arrange transport before you go. Roads in the Bang Tao area get congested at the end of each night, and finding a taxi or Grab on the spot can be difficult. Some hotels offer shuttle services during the festival.
The age limit is 20+. You will need a valid passport or Thai ID at the entrance. Copies are not always accepted.
EDC Thailand History in Phuket
EDC Thailand debuted in January 2025 at Boat Avenue Lakefront in Bang Tao. The first edition drew around 150,000 attendees over three nights, with more than 50,000 coming from outside Thailand. Headliners included Skrillex, Tiesto, Illenium, Fisher, Afrojack, and The Chainsmokers. The festival was widely considered a success, with hotels across the island fully booked during the event period.
The second edition ran from 16 to 18 January 2026, moving to the larger Rhythm Park venue. The lineup featured Tiesto, Deadmau5, Zedd, Armin van Buuren, and many more across multiple stages. The venue upgrade doubled the festival footprint and improved the overall layout and crowd flow.
The third edition is confirmed for December 18 to 20, 2026, marking a shift from January to December dates. With a five-year commitment to Phuket, EDC Thailand is expected to return annually through at least 2029.
