A new luxury Beach Club right on the beach of Patong
Barra Cuda Beach Club Phuket is the newest addition to Patong’s growing beach club scene — and maybe the best-looking one so far. It just opened on the sand next to the Impiana Hotel, not far from Bangla Walking Street and a few doors down from Kudo Beach Club. You’ll spot it straight away: bright white, sleek, and already getting popular in the evening.
I stopped by recently to check it out, and the first impression was strong. The whole place wraps around a wide, semi-circular pool facing the sea. It’s all clean lines, white loungers, and oversized daybeds with towels already set up. It reminds of some of the beach clubs in Bali or Ibiza — but this is right in the middle of Patong.
Layout, atmosphere and first impressions
The club is big and feels open, with lots of space between zones, so it doesn’t get cramped. There’s a clear layout, and depending on where you want to sit, there’s a minimum spend, even if you’re just here for lunch. The front row, closest to the beach, is the most expensive, of course. Just behind that is what they call the VIP area: a raised lane that cuts through the middle of the pool, with a handful of beds that feel a bit more private.
The design is sharp, but it still feels welcoming. We came in the early afternoon, and it was surprisingly laid-back. A few groups were lounging around the pool, soft background music was playing, and the staff were moving around calmly. It’s a good time to enjoy the place without the full party mode. Things pick up as the sun goes down — the DJ comes in, the lights go on, and the mood changes completely. It turns into a proper beach party in the early evening.
Food, drinks and prices
The restaurant is good, with a surprisingly wide menu. They serve everything from wood-fired pizzas (starting at 445 baht) and burgers to Thai classics like Pad Thai Koong, which will cost you 480 baht. It’s not cheap, but the presentation is great, and portions are big.
We ordered a Guacamole Bruschetta — grilled sourdough topped with creamy avocado, red onion, tomato, jalapeños and EVO — for 345 baht, and an Original Burger at 480 baht. Both arrived quickly and looked great. The burger was juicy, the bread nicely toasted, and they didn’t skimp on toppings.
Cocktails start at 400 baht and lean toward creative combinations. We tried one called White Sand — made with Jim Beam White Bourbon, Monin Crème Brulee Syrup, fresh lime, blueberry purée, mint, and a coconut lavender espuma on top. It’s a strange mix on paper, but it works — sweet and fresh with a floral aftertaste (450 baht).
Overall
Barra Cuda Beach Club Phuket is aiming high, and so far, it looks like they’re doing things right. The space is beautiful, the layout makes sense, and the atmosphere shifts nicely from chill to party as the day goes on. It’s definitely not a budget beach club, but if you’re in Patong and want something a bit more upscale, while still being fun and not too serious, this is worth trying.
If you’re just looking to relax, come around noon and grab a quieter spot. If you’re in the mood for a sunset drink and some music, head over late afternoon and stay for the evening. Either way, it’s one of the most stylish places on this stretch of sand, and definitely worth keeping an eye on.
