A Rooftop Bar over the Beach in Patong
The Surface rooftop bar at La Flora Hotel in Patong Beach is one of the few rooftops in Phuket, but as beach clubs did, the number seems to be growing. Just like with Bangkok rooftop bars, people seem to be irresistibly attracted, and we can’t blame them, everything looks so much better from up there, the photos are so beautiful.
The Surface is both a bar and a restaurant. It’s not very high but has a unique location just above the beach of Patong. The view is a little obscured by palm trees, but we can’t be too picky, and they actually add a nice little touch to your pictures. The sunset is one of the highlights, so don’t come too late to enjoy the moment. Did you know that you can search for ‘sunset time in Phuket‘ on Google so you will never miss it?
Food is pretty average, to be honest… we tried some of the classics as it is always a good way to get an idea of the food and unfortunately, like in many restaurants located in hotels in Patong, the taste was a little too bland and may be adjusted to tourist tastes.
The best is to come for a drink until it gets dark and then move to a seafood restaurant nearby like Savoey Seafood or Patong Seafood if you are on foot, or Kaab Gluay and Pan Yaah Seafood if you have a bike or a car. Anyway, The Surface is in a great location, so don’t miss a chance to get a great sunset photo while in Patong!
