Royal Phuket Marina
Royal Phuket Marina is a luxury harbour and lifestyle complex on the east coast of Phuket, in the Koh Kaew area just north of Phuket Town. The marina sits next to the older Phuket Boat Lagoon Marina and is home to condominiums, waterfront restaurants, marine businesses, and some seriously impressive yachts. It holds a 5 Gold Anchor certification, the highest standard for marinas worldwide.

The marina opened around 2006-2007 and had a quiet spell for several years, but in 2025-2026, it has reinvented itself with a new wave of restaurants, fresh tenants, and a growing community of marine businesses. It is worth a visit if you are in the area, especially in the late afternoon when the light over the marina is at its best.
What to See and Do
The main draw at Royal Phuket Marina is the boardwalk. It wraps around the harbour and is the best spot to admire the yachts, from sleek sailing boats to multimillion-dollar motor cruisers. Sunseeker Yachts, one of the world’s top luxury yacht brands, opened a showroom here in early 2026 through their Asia-Pacific dealer DCH Marine Thailand.
The boardwalk restaurants have improved a lot recently. There are now several options for lunch or dinner with marina views, ranging from healthy cafes to cocktail bars to fine dining. The complex is also home to the Royal Tennis Club with courts and a lounge, a gym in the Business Park, and a handful of marine tour companies offering day trips and yacht charters.

If you are staying on the east coast or near Phuket Town, Royal Phuket Marina is an easy 10-15 minute drive. You can combine a visit with the nearby Boat Lagoon Marina, which has its own restaurants and shops. Together, the two marinas make for a pleasant half-day outing away from the beach crowds.

LUME Bistro is the standout dining destination at Royal Phuket Marina. The restaurant focuses on Mediterranean-inspired Italian seafood, with a menu built around fresh, premium ingredients. Expect oysters, fine de Claire, vongole pasta, and creative dishes like profiteroles with caviar. The waterfront setting is hard to beat, especially in the evening when the marina lights reflect off the water. LUME has quickly built a strong reputation and is one of the best reasons to make the trip to Koh Kaew.
Solavita Cafe is a wellness-inspired cafe open daily from 8 am to 6 pm. It serves nourishing bowls, salads, sourdough tartines, artisan pizzas, smoothies, and quality coffee. It replaced the long-running Italian restaurant Isola, which had been the marina’s signature dining spot for years. A good choice for a relaxed daytime meal by the water.
BLUU Asian Kitchen & Bar is open from 12 pm to 10 pm and serves shared plates with a coastal Asian theme alongside cocktails and signature drinks. Run by the same team as Solavita.
Several other spots line the boardwalk, including The Dock Bar, The Speakeasy Phuket (a cocktail bar), Pasta Basta, Madame Saigon (Vietnamese), Sea Breeze (Thai and international), Les Anges (pastries), and BAKE (coffee).
Beyond the Restaurants
Royal Phuket Marina is more than a dining destination. The complex houses several marine businesses, yacht charter companies, and tour operators. A Regus co-working space operates on site for anyone needing a desk with a view. The Consulate General of the Russian Federation is also based here, along with international offices, including a Booking.com branch.
The marina hosts events throughout the year, including yacht shows and social evenings. Check the Royal Phuket Marina Facebook page for the latest schedule.
