NIBE Authentic Italian Aroma brings northern Italian cooking to Rawai, in the south of Phuket. Nicolò and Beatrice, a young Italian couple, opened this restaurant in December 2023. NIBE occupies an open, comfortable space on Wiset Road in Rawai and works well for a romantic dinner or a group gathering. It’s not a large restaurant, which means Nicolò and Beatrice can give proper attention to each table. The atmosphere feels relaxed but polished.

The Chefs Behind NIBE

The name “NIBE” combines their first initials. They come from different regions of Italy. Nicolò grew up near Lake Garda in Trentino Alto Adige, while Beatrice is from Piemonte. Both learned to cook from their grandparents before attending culinary school.

Nicolò trained in his family’s gastronomy business near Riva del Garda, a town known for lake fish and Alpine dishes. Beatrice spent her childhood in her grandmother’s pastry shop, working with dough before she could read recipes.

What’s on the Menu

Everything at NIBE is made from scratch. Fresh pasta comes out daily. Bread is baked in-house. The menu has slow-cooked pork cheeks with polenta, Wagyu beef tagliata with Gorgonzola cream, and white snapper prepared simply to let the fish shine. Starters include a seafood platter with tuna tartare, scallops, and salt cod bonbons.

Desserts are Beatrice’s department. The tiramisu gets a lot of attention from guests. There’s also a signature dessert called “Beatrice”, a glossy red apple-shaped creation inspired by the apples of Trentino Alto Adige. During the holidays, they make handmade panettone.

The restaurant imports Italian ingredients like truffles, Gorgonzola, olive oil, and wines from Alto Adige to Sicily. It’s a bit pricier than typical Rawai restaurants but not excessive. The couple often comes to the table to explain dishes.

From amuse-bouche, main course to dessert, and of course Limoncello, each bite is a celebration of authentic Italian flavours. Shared with warmth, the restaurant reflects Italian family hospitality, where every guest feels welcome. At NIBE, authenticity, passion, and connection meet on every plate, turning meals into memorable experiences that capture the heart of Italy.
