Access is by speedboat only from Bang Rong Pier on Phuket’s northeast coast. The crossing takes 30 minutes.

Location

Bang Rong Pier is 30 minutes from Phuket Airport. The island itself has minimal development. A few small restaurants are within walking distance along the beach. Koyao Island Resort has 25 villas. Fifteen are beachfront with thatched palm leaf roofs and open-air design. Ten hillside tented villas sit higher up with sea views. All include private pools, outdoor seating areas, air conditioning, minibar, and tea and coffee facilities. The open-air structure of the beach villas means limited privacy. Living spaces aren’t fully enclosed by walls.

Some guests prefer this design for its connection to the environment. Others find it impractical. Check photos carefully if this matters to you. Facilities include an infinity pool overlooking the bay, Koyao Spa, a library, and an activity centre. Free kayaks, bicycles, yoga sessions, and snorkelling gear are available. Pum Pui Restaurant serves Thai and international dishes. Breakfast is typically included depending on your booking. The resort lists five restaurants and bars, though several of these are sections of the main restaurant or beach bar areas rather than separate venues.

A few small Thai restaurants sit along the beach within a short walk from the resort. The main village has additional local options. Since you’re on an island with limited dining choices, most guests eat at the resort for convenience.
