Guinness, Pub Food and Live Sports in Patong

The Irish Times is the only Irish-owned pub in Phuket, and it’s been around in Patong for years. You’ll find it on the ground floor of Jungceylon Shopping Mall, in the Sino Phuket zone. It’s a good spot for a cold Guinness and proper pub food when you need a break from Thai food or just want to watch a game.

What It Looks Like Inside

The pub is done right. Dark wood everywhere, barrel tables with stools, a long wooden bar with a checkered tile floor behind it, and brick walls covered in old signs and Irish sayings. Several TVs are spread around the room showing live sports. There’s also a separate dining area with banquette seating and proper tables if you’re coming with family. Outside the entrance, a few tables let you sit and watch the mall’s foot traffic go by.

What to Eat and Drink

The menu covers all the classics you’d expect. All Day Irish Breakfast with black pudding, fish and chips, Guinness Pie, Irish stew, bangers and mash, burgers, and steaks. They do a ‘Steak on Stone’ where you cook your own filet, rib eye, or tuna steak at the table, which is fun. Daily specials are written on a chalkboard outside. On Sundays, they do a proper carvery with roast lamb, beef, pork, ham, and chicken with all the trimmings. They have a kids menu too.

Guinness and Magners cider are on draught, plus a long list of whiskeys, cocktails, wines, and bottled beers. Happy hour deals change, so check the board when you walk in.

Live Sports

This is where a lot of expats come to watch the Premier League, Formula 1, cricket, golf, and MotoGP. Multiple screens around the pub mean you can see the action from most seats. It gets busy on big match nights, so arrive early if you want a good spot.

Good to Know

The Irish Times is open daily from 11 am to 1 am. Breakfast is served from 11 am until 3 pm, and last food orders are at 11 pm. It’s family-friendly during the day but gets more of a pub atmosphere in the evening with music and a bigger crowd.
