Ekachai Kai Ob is the kind of local restaurant people often recommend when you ask where to find good Thai food in Phuket Town. Located right along a busy roadside, it might not look like much from the outside, but the tables are always full by dinner time. The crowd is a good mix of locals and tourists, which is usually a good sign, and it turns out to be true here.
They serve a nice variety of traditional Thai and Isan fusion food, with plenty of seafood dishes on the menu. The team is fast and friendly, doing their best to seat everyone as quickly as possible.
You might end up at one of the small sidewalk tables or in the long open-air dining room, which is filled with hanging plants and greenery. Even though you’re right next to a noisy road, the space has a relaxed and cheerful feeling — more like eating on a lively terrace with white railings, leafy corners, and good energy all around.

Tam Tod Moo Papong

Seua Rong Hai
Seua Rong Hai is grilled beef slices served with spicy dipping sauce. A bold and smoky Thai favourite, cooked just right.
Pla Pao
Pla Pao is a salt-crusted grilled fish served with fresh herbs, rice noodles, and dipping sauces. A classic Thai wrap-it-yourself dish — fresh, fun, and full of flavour.
The food came fast, portions were generous, and everything felt well-seasoned and freshly cooked. It’s a great place for people who want to explore real Thai flavours without going too far off the main roads. The setting may be casual, but the cooking is spot on.
