Muay Thai Camp in Rawai Beach
AKA Thailand is a large combat sports resort located in the tropical heart of Phuket, known for its Muay Thai and MMA training. Voted the #1 Muay Thai School in Thailand by the Thai Government for four years in a row (2021โ2024), they offer a modern, welcoming approach to training in Thailand.
Founded by former UFC fighter Mike Swick, AKA Thailand was created as an alternative to the typical gritty fight gyms. The campus is designed to welcome all levels, from beginners to experienced fighters.
The training areas are extensive. The Muay Thai zone covers 7,000 square feet, with oversized rings and new equipment, cleaned after each session. Nearby is Thailandโs largest indoor MMA mat (4,000 square feet), a modern weight room, cardio zone with Airdyne bikes, and an air-purified strength and conditioning tower called The Alpha Tower. The tower includes rope climbs, monkey bars, and views over the surrounding jungle.
The atmosphere is also a key part of the experience. More than 3,000 tropical plants create a relaxing setting, and the saltwater pool, designed to look like a sunken fight gym, provides a unique place to recover after training.
One of their signature programmes is the โFight Club Experienceโ, which allows anyone in good health to prepare and fight in an official Muay Thai match in a real stadium, streamed live online.
Over the years, they have hosted UFC champions, celebrities, and high-profile guests, though the focus remains on quality coaching and good service. They also assist with visas, accommodation, airport transfers, and have an on-site cafรฉ.
